I had a mixed experience at this resort spa. The beautiful beach location and stunning views were the highlights, but the state of the rooms and overall cleanliness were a big letdown. The amenities were lacking, and the service could use some improvement. Overall, not the luxury escape I had hoped for.

The state of the rooms left much to be desired. They were poorly maintained, with musty carpets and bathrooms that felt unsanitary. I'll rate the rooms a disappointing 2/10.

The location is excellent, surrounded by beautiful scenery and close to the beach, but I found the room to be quite dated and in need of upkeep. The service was adequate, but there were some serious issues with the room's cleanliness and comfort. If you're looking for a basic place to stay, it might be okay, but I expected better given the price and location.

Rooms
5.0
The room was dated and not as clean as I hoped. The air conditioning was absent, making it feel stuffy, and the noise from neighbors was quite bothersome.
Service
5.0
The service was okay, but the housekeeping knocked on my door early, which was frustrating.
Location
9.0
The location is stunning, within easy reach of the beach and surrounded by a beautiful park.
Dining
5.0
There were no dining options available, which was disappointing, especially with a child.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities need significant improvements; the pool area was fine, but the overall condition was not up to standard.

The resort offers a beautiful, quiet setting that's perfect for a retreat, just a short walk from a lovely beach with stunning sunsets. However, the rooms are quite outdated and not particularly clean, with some maintenance issues. Dining options are limited, and service can be hit or miss, which makes me question the overall value for the price. If the location is your priority, it's a decent choice, but don't expect luxury or comfort.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms are very outdated and could use a thorough cleaning and modern updates. We found stains on towels and mildew in the shower curtains.
Service
5.0
The service was inconsistent; the front desk seemed unhelpful, but the shuttle driver was a wonderful source of information.
Location
9.0
The location is beautiful and peaceful, nestled closely to the beach and surrounded by nature, which is a major plus.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were quite basic, reminiscent of university dining halls. It wasn't very inspiring, but there are decent restaurants nearby.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities need updating. While there are some great walking trails, the overall amenities felt kind of neglected.

My stay at Asilomar Resort was quite frustrating. The location is beautiful with scenic views, but the rooms were in terrible condition, and the lack of basic amenities made my experience less enjoyable. While the grounds are picturesque and great for walks, the overall state of repairs and cleanliness really overshadowed the positive aspects.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were filthy and outdated, with poor repair; I could hardly take a shower in the unsanitary bathroom.
Service
5.0
There wasn't much notable service to speak of, as the focus seemed to be on overlooked upkeep rather than hospitality.
Location
8.0
The resort is nestled among trees and very close to the beautiful beach, enhancing the natural experience.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were very limited, and I chose to eat my own meals instead.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were not well-maintained, with obvious hazards such as sagging structures.

My experience at this hotel was a bit of a letdown. The location has its charm being surrounded by nature, but the accommodations felt outdated and uncomfortable. The service left much to be desired, which is not what I expected for a retreat. While I appreciated the tranquil setting, the overall quality of the space made it hard to enjoy my stay fully.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were quite basic and felt like they hadn't been updated in ages. The lack of modern amenities made for an uncomfortable experience.
Service
5.0
Service was lacking; my initial phone call felt condescending rather than welcoming. This set a disappointing tone for my stay.
Location
8.0
The hotel is nestled amongst trees, offering a peaceful backdrop and close proximity to the beach. It's a lovely setting for those wanting to unplug.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was quite basic, resembling cafeteria-style service, which didn't meet my expectations for a retreat.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities felt neglected, and the lack of basic conveniences such as working ice machines made the stay uncomfortable.
